Duelist
Jett
In one line: The mobility duelist: she goes in first with a dash, takes high spots with her jump and, when needed, leaves before the enemy can answer. She is exceptional with the Operator.
Abilities
Jett has four abilities, all built for moving and fighting:
- Cloudburst: throws a small cloud that blocks vision briefly. Holding the key lets you curve it towards where you are looking. It is a quick smoke, not a controller smoke: it covers an angle for the length of a peek or an escape;
- Updraft: launches you upwards instantly. It reaches raised positions or surprises players aiming at head height;
- Tailwind (signature): you first activate it, then, within a short window, use it to dash in the direction you are moving (forwards if you are standing still). It is the ability that defines Jett: for getting into a site or out of a fight;
- Blade Storm (ultimate): a set of knives that stay accurate while moving and in the air. Primary fire throws one at a time, secondary fire throws all the remaining ones; a kill gives the knives back.
When to pick
Pick Jett when the team needs someone to go in first and create space, and when the map offers:
- open sites where a dash gets you in before the defense can react;
- high spots only her jump can reach, from which to surprise entering attackers or defenders;
- long lines to hold with the Operator: the dash lets you take one shot and vanish behind cover, which is exactly what the Operator asks for.
Jett is also a good pick if you like aggressive defense: take an early fight, then escape with Tailwind before the attack can trade.
