Maps

Breeze

In one line: A big, open map with very long lines, wide sites and a mid with a large pillar. It was reworked in patch 12.00, which narrowed mid and changed the entrances to A and B. It rewards the Operator, long smokes and whoever gathers information.

Win condition

Breeze is the map of long lines: open spaces, big sites, little cover. Whoever sees first and from range has a big advantage, which is why the Operator and abilities that cut sightlines matter more than elsewhere.

With the patch 12.00 rework the map became a little tighter: mid was narrowed around the central pillar, A has only one entrance on the attack side (A Shop), and B was split by a wall.

On attack the win condition is taking the long lines away from the defense (with a wall or large smokes) and then going in together; without that, the defense picks the attack off from range. On defense it is seeing the attack coming from afar and hitting it before it reaches the site, falling back when the attack answers with utility.

Callouts

The main names, updated to the patch 12.00 rework:

  • A side: the attack enters A through A Shop, which after the rework is A's only entrance on that side (A Cave is no longer accessible). A Hall no longer leads onto the site, but the ropes take you down through the Chute. On site are the Pyramids, big pieces of cover, and a back wall extended for the post-plant. Between the defender spawn and A are the metal doors.
  • B side: B Main is the attack's route to B. In the middle of the site there is a pillar, and a wall now splits the site into two areas; the stairs that led onto the site from the lane were replaced by a wall with boxes on either side.
  • Mid: it is built around a large central pillar, with Mid Nest and a new cubby added by the rework.

Breeze is out of the current pool: when it returns, we will check these names and the interactive map again.
