Defense - 8.5
Delaying and asking for help
In one line: The player delaying does not have to win the site alone: they have to get the team there in time. You delay by showing yourself, using utility at the right moment and giving ground one step at a time, and you ask for help with clear calls, early.
Why delay
On defense, almost every attacking execute lands on a site held by one or two players. Alone they cannot beat four or five attackers; they can, however, do one decisive thing: let enough time pass for their teammates to arrive.
Delaying works because the attack is in a hurry. Every second it spends stuck in front of an entrance, waiting for a smoke to fade or clearing an angle, is a second in which defenders from the other sites get closer. If the delay is good, when the attack finally enters the site it finds three or four defenders instead of one.
The key point is this: a delay is measured in seconds, not kills. A player who delays for 15 seconds and dies without killing anyone has often done more than one who gets a kill in the first two seconds and dies right after.
