Defense - 8.4
5v4 and 4v5 on defense
In one line: The first player eliminated changes the round. With the advantage, the defense should stop taking risks and let the attack make the move; at a disadvantage, it should tighten up, buy time and prepare the retake instead of holding everything.
The first death changes everything
In VALORANT, the first player eliminated in a round (the first blood) matters more than it looks. With one player fewer, a team has fewer eyes for information, fewer guns for fights, less utility to use and above all fewer chances to trade: every fight that follows becomes riskier.
That is why the first death should not just make you say "unlucky" or "nice": it should change how you play the rest of the round. A defense with the advantage and a defense at a disadvantage have different goals, and a team that keeps playing as if it were still five against five either wastes its advantage or makes its disadvantage worse.
