Duelist
Waylay
In one line: The light duelist: two dashes in a row to go where she wants, a beacon she returns to in an instant without being hittable, and an ability that slows the movement and shooting of whoever it hits. She goes in, strikes and comes back before the enemy understands.

Abilities
Waylay is built around lightning-fast entries and returns:
- Saturate: a cluster of light you throw that explodes on hitting the ground and hinders anyone nearby: it slows movement, fire rate, reload, recoil recovery and jumping. Since patch 12.06 you equip it before throwing;
- Lightspeed: up to two dashes in the directions you choose; only the first can also take you upwards. It gets you onto a site, changes your angle at the last moment or reaches a raised position;
- Refract (signature): you place a beacon of light on the ground; reactivating it returns you to the beacon as a flash of light, unhittable during the trip. You get a charge back every two kills;
- Convergent Paths (ultimate): you create an image of yourself that projects a beam of light; after a moment you get a big speed boost and the beam expands, hindering anyone in the area.
The typical combo is: place Refract, go in with Lightspeed, take the fight, return to the beacon.
When to pick
Pick Waylay when:
- you want a duelist who can get in and out of a site in a moment: Refract is a guaranteed escape few other agents have;
- the team needs someone to take the first fight without having to stay on site for long;
- the map offers angles to switch at the last moment and high spots reachable with the first dash;
- you have excellent movement control and enjoy playing with re-peek timings: go in, hit, return, come back from another side.
Saturate adds something rare for a duelist: an ability that weakens the enemy in the fight (slower to move, shoot and reload), useful both on attack and to stop an entry on defense.
Another reason to pick her is survival: many duelists trade their life for the first kill. With Refract, Waylay can often do both, go in first and stay alive, and a duelist still alive after the entry is worth a lot for the rest of the round.
