Initiator

Skye

In one line: The nature initiator: a dog to steer and clear corners, hawks that blind and tell you whether they hit anyone, healing for teammates and an ultimate that hunts down enemies. She brings information and flashes in one package.

Abilities

Skye's kit combines information, flashes and healing:

  • Regrowth: a healing area that heals teammates in range (not yourself) while you keep it active;
  • Trailblazer: a dog you steer in first person. You can make it leap forward to concuss whoever it hits. It tells you whether a space is occupied, and sets up the fight;
  • Guiding Light (signature): a hawk you steer in flight and can detonate into a flash. When the flash hits an enemy, Skye gets a signal: it is information too;
  • Seekers (ultimate): three creatures that hunt the nearest enemies and nearsight them when they reach them. They can be destroyed, but they force a reaction and reveal where the enemies are.

Skye is one of the few initiators who can both find enemies and blind them with the same abilities.

When to pick

Pick Skye when:

  • the team needs an initiator who brings flashes and information together: every hawk you throw blinds and tells you whether someone was there;
  • the map has tight corners and doors to clear, where the dog can check a space before a teammate goes in;
  • the team fights a lot and for long, with several fights in the same round: Regrowth's healing keeps teammates going between fights;
  • you want an ultimate that is useful in every phase: Seekers gives info on attack, on defense and in the retake.

Skye is also a great agent for players who want to learn to play for others: almost her whole kit serves her teammates.

On top of that, Skye is useful in solo queue teams, where often nobody brings healing: Regrowth keeps up teammates who would otherwise take the next fight on low health, and it changes the outcome of many long rounds.
