Learning from mistakes: ten questions for every lost round
In one line: A lost round only teaches you something if you ask why. Ten questions, always the same, take you from "I lost the duel" to the real reason, which is almost always information misread or a decision made too late.
The lost round as a lesson
Every player loses a lot of rounds: even the best lose almost half. The difference between those who improve and those who stay stuck is not losing fewer, but learning from the ones they lose.
The problem is that the most immediate explanation is almost always the least useful: "I missed the shot", "they got lucky", "my teammates did not help". These explain the last second, not the cause. The missed shot is often the last in a series of small choices: the position, the moment, the information you had or did not have.
The ten questions in this chapter help you trace back from that last second to the choice that really decided the round.
