Damage and range
The Vandal costs 2900 credits, holds 25 rounds and fires at 9.75 rounds per second. It deals 160 damage to the head, 40 to the body and 34 to the legs at every range: one headshot always kills, even through heavy armor and even at 50 meters. It is not suppressed and shows bullet tracers.
When to buy it
On a full buy, with heavy armor. It is the gun for players who rely on the first headshot, especially on maps and positions with long lines. Many players always use it, others switch with the Phantom depending on the map.
When not to
If you struggle with the first shot and often end up in long sprays: the Vandal's spray recoil is harder to control. And like any rifle, when buying it would leave your team broke next round.
What it beats and what beats it
Strong at every range if you hit the head, and especially at long range against anyone. Less comfortable than the Phantom in close sprays and through smokes, where tracers give away your position.
How to use it
- Work on your first shot: crosshair placement, stopping, a tap to the head.
- At range fire single shots or two-round bursts: one headshot is enough.
- Up close, if you must spray, pull your mouse down hard.
- Remember tracers show where you are shooting from: after a kill, reposition.
