Damage and range
The Spectre costs 1600 credits, holds 30 rounds, is suppressed and fires at 13.33 rounds per second. Up to 20 meters it deals 78 damage to the head, 26 to the body and 22 to the legs: two headshots kill even through heavy armor. Beyond 20 meters damage drops.
When to buy it
It is the most common weapon in round two after winning the pistol round (you can afford a Spectre and armor) and on half buys. It also works on defense for players holding close spots who want to save money compared to a rifle.
When not to
When you can buy a rifle without hurting the economy: at mid and long range a Vandal or Phantom is clearly better. Also against a well-played anti-eco at range, where the enemy has rifles and keeps you at a distance.
What it beats and what beats it
Strong up close and at short-to-mid range against pistols, Stingers and even rifles if you get close. Weak at long range, against snipers and against players holding long lines.
How to use it
- Fire controlled bursts: it is more accurate than it looks, even a few meters further out.
- The suppressor makes it harder to tell where you are shooting from: use it on corners.
- Fight close: pick routes that bring you near the enemy under cover.
- If you win the round, keep it: it can be your gun for a bonus round.
