Damage and range
The Phantom costs 2900 credits, holds 30 rounds, is suppressed and fires at 11 rounds per second. Damage:
| Range | Head | Body | Legs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0-15 m | 156 | 39 | 33 |
| 15-30 m | 140 | 35 | 29 |
| 30-50 m | 124 | 31 | 26 |
Within 15 meters one headshot kills even through heavy armor; beyond 15 meters you need two against heavy armor (or head plus body).
When to buy it
On a full buy, with heavy armor. Many prefer it to the Vandal for short and mid-range fights, for its more controllable spray, the suppressor, and because it shows no bullet tracers through smokes.
When not to
If the map or your position will have you fighting mostly at long range: there the Vandal (which keeps its damage) and the Warden beat it. And like any rifle, if buying it leaves your team broke next round.
What it beats and what beats it
Strong at short and mid range against everything, and when spraying through smokes. Weaker than the Vandal at long range against heavy armor.
How to use it
- At mid range use short bursts; up close a controlled spray works well.
- You can shoot through smokes without showing tracers: an edge in post-plants and retakes.
- At long range aim for two headshots, or reposition to close the distance.
- It is a personal choice against the Vandal: try both and keep the one you win more with.
