Damage and range
The Bandit costs 600 credits, holds 8 rounds and is semi-automatic. Damage:
| Range | Head | Body | Legs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0-10 m | 152 | 39 | 33 |
| 10-30 m | 128 | 39 | 33 |
| 30-50 m | 112 | 34 | 28 |
Within 10 meters one headshot kills even through heavy armor; up to 30 meters it kills through light armor. It was added in patch 12.00 and made a little more reliable (recovery and recoil) in 13.00.
When to buy it
It sits between the Ghost and the Sheriff: it is designed for players who want to steal budget rounds with precise headshots. Good on ecos and pistol rounds when you have some spare credits, especially at mid and short range.
When not to
If you are not confident in your precision: with 8 rounds and a gun that only rewards the head, body shots do little. Also when your team full buys and you can afford a rifle.
What it beats and what beats it
Strong against armored enemies who come close, and against other pistols at mid range. Weak against automatic weapons when you miss your first shots, and at long range where head damage drops.
How to use it
- Always aim for the head: that is the whole point of the gun.
- Fire calmly, one shot at a time, letting your crosshair reset.
- Use it from mid and short range positions, where the headshot is deadliest.
- Count your shots: 8 go quickly.
