Split

In one line: An attack on one site by two groups coming from different entrances.

What it means

Splitting means dividing the team: for example two players come in from mid and three from the same site's main. The defense then has to watch two entrances and cannot pour all its utility into one.

A split works if both groups arrive at the same moment and if mid control lets you reach the second entrance. If one group arrives first, it fights the whole defense alone.

An example

On Ascent three players go A main while two cut through mid towards the side of the site. On the call they all go in: the defenders watching main suddenly have enemies on their flank too.
