Glossary

Bind (key)

In one line: Which key triggers which action in the game: movement, abilities, weapons, commands.

What it means

A bind is simply which key does what. VALORANT lets you change all of them in the settings. There is no single "right" setup, but two rules help: actions you use while moving (abilities, jump, crouch) should sit on keys you can reach without leaving your movement keys, and your binds should not change from one match to the next.

Do not confuse this "bind" with Bind, one of the maps.

An example

You jump with the mouse wheel and use C, Q, E and X for abilities. You have kept them like that for months, so your hands find them on their own even in a panic. Changing them every match would make you fumble exactly when it matters.
