What is Standard mode in VALORANT

Standard is the classic 5v5 mode of VALORANT: one team attacks and plants the spike, the other defends, and the first team to win 13 rounds takes the match. ClutchLeague uses it for every custom match.

This topic is covered in depth in Academy: A full match: 13 rounds, side swap, overtime

How a match works

Teams switch sides at halftime. Attackers win a round by eliminating the defenders or by detonating the planted spike, defenders by eliminating the attackers, defusing the spike or running out the clock.

If the score reaches 12 to 12 the match goes to overtime and a team must lead by two rounds.

Why we use it

It is the mode everyone knows, with one map per match and the same rules for everybody, which keeps the results comparable.
