Getting started

What is ClutchLeague?

ClutchLeague is an independent community platform for playing organised 5v5 VALORANT custom matches: a queue with matchmaking by level, a guided lobby, assigned maps, results and stats read automatically, ELO, levels from 1 to 10, a leaderboard and seasons.

It is not affiliated with Riot Games: it is an independent project.

#
Does it cost anything to play?

No. The queue, matches, ELO, levels, leaderboard, stats and profile are free. Premium is optional: it unlocks dedicated queues, teams and tournaments, extra missions and the advanced details of single matches. Maps, verification and rules are the same for everyone; in the Premium Match (the credit queue) ELO points count 20% more, in wins and in losses.

See premium #
How do I sign up?

Sign in with Discord: your ClutchLeague account is created the first time. Pick a username, enter your Riot ID and accept the terms and privacy policy. We do not use Riot login and we never see your password or your Discord email.

#
Why do you need my Riot ID?

To read your matches automatically. You enter it once (format Name#TAG) and it is verified with the first match you play: from then on it is yours and unique, meaning a Riot ID cannot be used by two accounts.

It must be the account you really play with: a Riot ID that is not yours or is wrong is a violation and makes the match fail.

#
Can I play solo or with friends?

Both. Solo, the queue puts you on a team with other players of a similar level. With friends you create a party of 2 to 5 people and search together. A party of 5 only plays against other parties of 5.

Levels and ELO

How do levels work?

Levels go from 1 to 10 and follow your ELO, as on Faceit. Everyone starts equal, at 1000 ELO, which is level 4.

The thresholds: level 1 from 100 to 500, 2 from 501 to 750, 3 from 751 to 900, 4 from 901 to 1050, 5 from 1051 to 1200, 6 from 1201 to 1350, 7 from 1351 to 1530, 8 from 1531 to 1750, 9 from 1751 to 2000 and 10 from 2001 up. At the very top there is the Elite level.

Placement does not take you beyond level 6: from 7 up you earn it by playing.

#
What is placement?

The first 10 matches of a season are placement matches: during this time you see the points you win or lose in each match, but not your level or total ELO. You only play against other players in placement, and the first matches weigh more (up to about 50 points each) so the system places you quickly. At the end you get a starting level, at most 6.

#
How is the ELO of a match calculated?

As on Faceit, in an even match a game is worth about 25 points: winning as the favourite gives less, winning as the underdog gives more. The base is the result and how favoured your team was; on top comes the bonus or malus of your K/D.

The sign never changes: whoever wins always gains points and whoever loses always loses points. Performance only changes how many.

#
What role does K/D play?

The K/D of the match works as a bonus and a malus. With the same result, a high K/D wins you more (up to about 20% more) or costs you less (up to about 20% less); a low K/D wins you less (up to about 40% less) or costs you more (about 15% more). It never flips a result: a loss stays a loss.

The K/D comes from the official match data. If the match was verified with screenshots and you did not upload yours, the system assumes the worst case for your result.

#
What happens at the end of a season?

Your level stays and ELO goes back to the minimum of that level (level 1 restarts from 300), so everyone restarts close together. The leaderboard starts again from zero. The summary of the closed season stays available, with your final result and the records, and if you were Elite it stays on record.

Go to the leaderboard #
What is the Elite level?

It is the level above 10, like Faceit’s Challenger: level 10 and top 1000 of the season leaderboard.

As Elite you get a dedicated frame, banner and title, which you equip from your profile. If you drop out of the top 1000 you lose them after a few minutes of tolerance, and get them back as soon as you return. No score or matchmaking advantage.

Queues and parties

How do queues work?

Press “Find a match” and the system looks for ten players and splits them into two balanced teams. Players in placement only face players in placement and fullstacks (parties of 5) only face other fullstacks. The longer you wait, the wider the search gets.

#
How does the party work?

You create a party from the play page and invite your friends: up to 5 people can join. Only the leader starts the search, for everyone. While the party is searching it cannot be changed, and if someone leaves the search is cancelled.

To keep matches fair, the maximum difference between players in a party is 400 ELO (as on Faceit), whatever its size.

#
Can I invite my whole team at once?

Yes. If you are in a team, the party has an “Invite the team” button: it sends an invite to every teammate, even if you are not friends, up to the free spots. Anyone already in a party or who blocked you is skipped, and we tell you how many were not invited.

#
What is the Premium Match?

It is a tighter queue reserved for premium members, which costs one credit per player. If the match is cancelled before it starts the credit is returned. Maps, verification and penalties are the usual ones; the difference is in the points: in the Premium Match ELO points count 20% more, both in wins and in losses.

Matches

How does a match go?

Once a match is found you have 60 seconds to accept the ready check: whoever is missing is replaced. Then the map veto is held and one player, the host, creates the custom game in VALORANT and posts the party code on the page. Everyone joins, confirms the settings (Standard mode, cheats off, overtime on) and you play.

#
Why do we have to confirm the lobby settings?

Because the game does not expose them and we cannot read them: the ten of you check them, item by item. If something does not match, the host has 90 seconds to fix it, as many times as needed.

#
How is the result verified?

Automatically. When the match ends ClutchLeague reads the official match data using the Riot IDs of the players and matches it to the players in the lobby: result, everyone’s stats, rounds, weapons. You do not have to upload anything.

If something does not add up (for example two players with the wrong Riot ID) the match goes to staff review instead of counting by mistake.

#
What if the match cannot be found?

After a few automatic attempts, the system falls back to screenshots: every player uploads theirs of the final screen and the screenshots are compared row by row. If enough players agree, the result is verified. Screenshots are deleted after 30 days and are never public.

#
The result is wrong: how do I dispute it?

Open a dispute from the match page within 72 hours. A moderator reviews it and, if you are right, the ELO is restored. The official match data, which is stored in full, can be used to decide.

Read the fair play rules #
What happens if I do not show up or I leave?

An absence hurts nine other people, so the consequences are gradual: a pause from the queue, and for small repeated infractions (absences, missing confirmations) strikes that add up and expire over time. Serious or repeated cases lead to a suspension or a ban. Every sanction can be appealed.

#
How do I report a toxic player or a cheater?

After the match you can report another player by choosing a category and describing what happened. Reports are reviewed by moderators. Reporting in bad faith is itself a violation, so use it only when needed.

#

Account and privacy

What do others see about me?

A public profile shows name, level, stats and matches. With a private profile you become “Anonymous player” to anyone who has not played with you, including in the advanced match views. Your Riot ID is shown only if you choose to show it.

Privacy settings #
Can I export or delete my data?

Yes, by yourself, from the privacy settings. The export is a zip with JSON and CSV, available for 7 days. Account deletion has a 14-day cooling-off period: after that we erase your name, avatar, Riot ID and PUUID, email and the rest of your personal data. Your matches stay without your name, so other players’ scores do not change.

Privacy policy #
Is ClutchLeague affiliated with Riot Games?

No. ClutchLeague is an independent project: it is not sponsored or approved by Riot Games. We read the match data through HenrikDev, an external unofficial service. VALORANT and Riot Games are trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.

Premium and stats

What does premium include?

Premium-only queues and the Premium Match (with monthly credits), creating teams and tournaments, the premium mission track with exclusive rewards, team voice on Discord, the advanced match details, the full ClutchLeague Academy (the VALORANT guide: the free chapters stay open to everyone) and no advertising anywhere on the site. You pay with a monthly or yearly subscription and cancel whenever you want.

Plans and details #
What is ClutchLeague Academy?

The complete VALORANT guide, in English and Italian: from the rules of the round to the habits of strong players, with agents, interactive maps, weapons, a glossary and “if, then” cards. Every chapter says which level it is for. Part of it is free for everyone; the rest opens with Premium, and you can always read the start of every premium chapter. If your premium ends, the full text closes again but your progress stays.

Open Academy #
Does premium give a score advantage?

Almost never: the ELO calculation, the maps, verification and penalties are the same in every queue. The only difference is the Premium Match, the credit queue: there points count 20% more, in wins and losses, so you climb faster when you win and drop faster when you lose. In the normal queue and in “Premium only” points are the same as everyone else’s.

#
Which stats are free?

Almost all of them. Profile, weapons, maps and agents, leaderboard, “Best by”, seasons and teams are free for everyone, and so is the scoreboard of every match with the ten players’ results and the MVP.

Premium unlocks only the advanced detail of a single match: every round with its economy, who killed whom, duels, clutches, weapons and spending.

#
I cannot find the answer: how do I contact you?

From the Contact page: there is a form and you will find our details. We read everything and reply as soon as we can. To export or delete your data you do not need to write to us, it is done from the settings.
